Job Details
If you are a software developer with deep emotional attachment to and equally deep technical understanding of emoji, please read on!
We are looking for a Sr. Emoji Engineer to join our growing team. We make Sameroom, a platform that brings federation and interoperability to real-time communication systems (chat). As our technology expands with gateways for new providers, we must address the swelling need for accurate emoji translation between different services. To actually get it done, the task requires the attention of a software engineer with inordinate—unbearable, even—passion for emoji.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Sr. Emoji Engineer, you will be required to help with and understand the general idea behind Sameroom server architecture, as well as the details of the various gateways responsible for interfacing with specific chat services. You will be required to perform a comprehensive audit of our existing emoji translation rules—the work of grievous emoji dilettantes, we must admit—and fix any and all lapses.
Your position will be customer-facing: you will be responsible for addressing any emoji-related disputes, corrections, or suggestions from our customers and partners. You may be required to host and moderate a technical emoji conference.
